my favorite too faced cosmetics

my favorite too faced cosmetics

when i first got into makeup, i had no idea what i was doing. let me re-phrase, i had no idea how to apply foundation the right way, properly do eyeliner, i had no idea which makeup brands were the best, what brushes contoured the cheek bone correctly, and so on. but for some reason, i loved doing makeup. as time went on, i learned how to apply foundation, properly do eyeliner, which makeup brands are the best, and i now know which brushes do better with what i'm trying to do. one of my favorite makeup brands that played a key role in me falling in love with makeup is too faced cosmetics; i adored how cute their products were (and still are)! i remember one of the first products i bought from them was their melted lipstick. so i've compiled a little list of all my favorite too faced cosmetics!

1) too faced totally cute eye shadow palette

totally cute is the first eye shadow palette i ever bought from too faced, and if you can't tell from how much is left in the shooting star shade, i love it. i had previously tried some of their other products, but didn't know what to expect in an eye shadow palette. needless to say i wasn't disappointed. personally, i wasn't a big fan of all the other colors but they actually come in handy. obviously my favorite shade is shooting star because it's so simple and can go with anything. this shade is also a shimmer, so it adds a little more to my eye.

2) better than sex mascara

so i've talked about this mascara before here, but it's a too faced favorite. i really like how dark it makes my lashes look. the darker, the better. better than sex mascara also adds so much volume to the lashes, which i like.

3) too faced melted lipstick in melted peony

my very first too faced cosmetic!! personally, i'm not a big fan of lipstick, glosses, or anything. i don't particularly like how sticky some go on, or clumpy, but the melted lipstick isn't too shabby. i bought this product in the shade of melted peony, which is like a light pink that goes well with my skin tone. my first reaction i didn't like it because of the way it came out (does that make sense), i prefer wands just because it seems easier. the melted lipstick goes on smooth and isn't sticky or clumpy. the lipstick also stays on well and doesn't dry my lips out! this is definitely a favorite.

4) hangover replenishing face primer

i never used to prime my face, i would literally just brush my foundation on and go on with my day. of course i learned. the too faced hangover replenishing face primer is a great primer. it goes on smooth and helps refresh me. another great thing about hangover is how it smells like coconut--it smells so good, like you're at the beach.

5) too faced sweethearts blush

last but not least, is too faced's sweethearts blush in sparkling bellini. up until most recently, i didn't use blush in fear of looking like a clown but as i mentioned before, i now know what to do (lol). this is one my overall favorite makeup products, i love how it shimmers so it's not just a plain pink. and the sweethearts blush comes with three shades, lined next together. the colors blend nicely together, creating a nice shade that goes on smooth and not overwhelming.

when i have a sephora gift card, too faced is the first section i go to. too faced is honestly one of the best makeup brands i know of, and if you're looking to buy something new from them or just in general, these are, in my opinion, the best buys. i hope this helped!!!

ciate london x chloe morello beauty haul: pretty, fun and fearless

ciate london x chloe morello beauty haul: pretty, fun and fearless

last october chloe morello, an australian youtuber, collaborated with ciate london to curate a beauty haul. in that collaboration, the ciate london x chloe morello beauty haul: pretty, fun and fearless was born. and let me tell you, i love it. this beauty haul includes an eyeshadow palette, a deluxe sized mascara, a matte lipstick tube, along with a cute little makeup bag to keep them in.

i’ve never tried any of ciate london’s products (or actually heard of them) before, so when i saw this product in sephora while on the prowl for a new eyeshadow palette, i figured it was a good opportunity to try their makeup products.

ciate london x chloe morello beauty haul: pretty, fun, and fearless
packaging:

one of the first eye catching features of this product i noticed, was the packaging. everything included in the beauty haul comes inside a really cute box with the same rose gold, purple, flamingo theme as the eyeshadow palette. as i mentioned above, the box comes with an eyeshadow palette, a deluxe sized mascara, a matte lipstick tube, and a cute little makeup bag to store all of it in. the buyer also gets a cute, short message from chloe. in my opinion, i think the message adds a personal touch to the product from chloe herself.

eyeshadow palette:

the pretty, fun, and fearless eyeshadow palette comes with a total of 15 shades, consisting of six shimmers and nine mattes. the shade range goes from warm to cool, so there’s a wide variety.

skinny dip- a light, warm tan matte shade
unconditional-  medium warm tan matte shade
on fire- rusty, warm brown matte shade
queen bee- deep, mauve/brown matte shade
shine bright- a tan/golden copper shimmer shade
vacay- light/warm gold shimmer shade
my tribe- very light beige matte shade
be sassy- a light pink matte shade
jet setter- mix of a light purple and light pink matte shade
happy- light bronze shimmer shade
dainty- champagne shimmer shade
fierce- warm maroon shimmer shade
flirt- plum matte shade
day dream- deep plum matte shade
own it- warm blueberry matte shade (it’s like a mix of a dark purple and dark blue)

although there is a bit of fallout with the shades, overall they apply to the eyelid pretty well. i don’t normally find myself having to reapply the shade, they stay well and seem to be very pigmented on the skin. i personally use the shimmers more but that’s because i love the sparkle. yhe mattes, however work well too, they blend well with the shimmers and other colors too.

my favorite shades are dainty, fierce, jet setter, and on fire. i especially love dainty because it can be worn with basically anything, it’s my go-to shade. jet setter is a good base and mixes well with other shades. like i previously mentioned, this eyeshadow palette has a wide variety, there’s a shade for almost any outfit.

lipstick:

the mini liquid velvet lipstick that is included in the beauty haul, is in the shade of pinup. i personally haven’t tried the lipstick because the shade is really bold and dark, which isn’t for me, so i can’t be much help here.

mascara:

last up, we have the wonderland deluxe sized mascara. something that’s important to me in mascara, is the way it makes my eyelashes look. i want big, and full eyelashes, and wonderland does the trick. the mascara glides easily over my lashes, and isn’t clumpy at all. i don’t use this mascara everyday, but when i do, it doesn’t disappoint.

swatches:

top to bottom: skinny dip, unconditional, on fire, queen bee, shine bright, vaycay, my tribe, be sassy, jet setter, happy, dainty, fierce, flirt, day dream, own it

overall:

to finish up, i think the ciate london x chloe morello beauty haul: pretty, fun and fearless is a good product to invest in.

i hope this review helped! don’t forget to comment what you love about this product if you already have it, have any other questions about this product, or ideas about what makeup product i should review next!!!

march beauty favorites

march beauty favorites

i love all things beauty, from skin care, to makeup, even hair products. i also love trying new and different products. this month i have six beauty favorites, some i've found within the last few months but are especially loving this month, and some are newer finds that i can't get enough of.

tarte rainforest of the sea mist, $25
this mist by tarte is so refreshing in the morning when i'm trying to wake up! on top of everything else i do to my face before my makeup, this mist refreshes my face, gets it smooth for my primer, and just helps me wake up! i highly recommend using this product as a refresher, to be honest.

better than sex mascara, (mini version, price varies)
so this is an older product, but i'm especially loving it this month. i originally got it for christmas, and instantly fell in love. this mascara by too faced, adds so much volume to my eyelashes, and makes them look so dark and i love it.

plump it up, (don't know price)
eyelashes are very important to me. i use this mascara by wet n' wild as a base coat which plumps my lashes up, making the above mascara look even more fabulous.

lush bath bombs, (price varies)
bath bombs are bomb af, lol. i love how they fizz and make the bath water pretty colors. the one pictured above smells so good too. lush always comes in clutch with the skin products.

detox dry shampoo, $23
i've never been a fan of dry shampoo since the last time i used it, it left white stuff in my hair. however, this dry shampoo by drybar is fantastic. it doesn't leave anything after sprayed, it makes my hair look like it was just washed, and there's a good smelling scent with it!

brow definer, $23
until recently i didn't know how to do my eyebrows, honestly they looked like caterpillars. but, i learned with the brow definer by anastasia beverly hills. i love the color (i use taupe) and it fills my brows in perfectly. the brush attached at the other end helps me shape them too. 10/10 recommend.

hope you enjoyed my march beauty favorites!

the sweet peach eye-shadow palette

the sweet peach eye-shadow palette

ahhh my first makeup review! the other day i decided to post my first makeup look on instagram and today i decided to post my first makeup review here! with these type of posts i'll be reviewing different makeup products and why/why not i like them. i'll also be providing swatches and photographs! today, i'll be reviewing the sweet peach eye-shadow palette from too faced since my first makeup look was created from that palette. so let's get started!

review:
too faced has been one of my favorite makeup brands since the beginning. i love all of their products, from the better than sex mascara to the too cute eye-shadow palette. so when they came out with their sweet peach eye-shadow palette, i was siked because i had heard great things about it when it was fist launched as a limited edition item.

the sweet peach eye-shadow palette comes with 18 different shades inspired by peach (the fruit!). the colors range from light neutrals, to pinky/peachy, to warmer neutrals, and dark colors. personally, there are colors i really like and then there are colors i wouldn't miss (both purples and camo-like green or all the shades of brown). most of the mattes in this palette were very soft which kicked up powder onto my face and didn't stick to my eye very well. the mattes with sparkle also didn't have much "sparkle translate". the palette itself has a sweet fruity scent to it that i was able to smell as soon as i opened the box. it honestly smelled so good. but i don't notice any scent after i put the eye-shadows on.

i'm not going to lie, eye-shadow palettes are basically my aesthetic, but when looking at this palette, even though some of the shades are gorgeous, i'm not that impressed. that might just be my bias since i'll most likely only use some of these shades, while the others just sit there, lol.

when looking at the palette, the colors are really inspired by the colors of peach, and the pinks really represent that. the shades, although some are bright and may look like they would stand out, are "toned" very well. i love the shade "candied peach" because it accents my eyes and puts some color on my face.

but as i mentioned above, the shadows are soft and kick up powder. when i was doing my first look, the powder was kicking off into the corner of my eye and on the side of my nose. i normally love mattes, and do love these, but it sucks to have to re-do the makeup around my face because i have to wipe off excess powder. however, they do blend nicely.

the shades i really love are "nectar", "just peachy", "luscious", "peaches 'n cream" and "bellini". they show up well on the eyelid and the neutrals are good for a base. the shades i'm disappointed in are "charmed, i'm sure", "puree", "georgia", and "delectable". honestly, i just think there are a lot of warm neutrals. maybe there are more warm toned peaches that i don't know about, but these neutrals are the same. either a light tan or a dark tan. a light brown or a dark brown.

swatches:
left to right: white peach, luscious, just peachy, bless her heart, tempting, and charmed, i'm sure
as you can see, although there is color, pigmentation is low in the light colors.

left to right: nectar, cobbler, candied peach, bellini, peach pit, and delectable
also here, you can see the excess powder coming off.
left to right: peaches 'n cream, georgia, caramelized, puree, summer yum, and talk derby to me
peaches 'n cream has a lot of pigment and goes on smooth and seems to stick (that's why it's one of my favorites!!!).

overall, i really like this palette and i believe it lives up to the hype, despite all my criticism lol.

below is the first look i created with this palette:
i used candied peach, nectar, just peachy, and bellini.

well there it is! i hope you enjoyed this review and it has helped you make a choice about whether or not the sweet peach eye-shadow palette is for you!!
