above all, i love visiting museums and art galleries. it's my thing. i love walking through the halls looking at the history, different parts of the worlds cultures, and finding beautiful masterpieces. this one in particular, however, is my absolute favorite.
the renwick gallery sits on the corner of pennsylvania avenue in washington, d.c., and stands about two stories high. right when you walk in, there is grand staircase, carpeted in red from the bottom to the top.
the gallery hosts a permanent collection called connections, and an exhibit that was open when i went called visions and revisions.

ready for my favorite part? after you walked up the steps, there was this huge archway entrance into the grand salon, and you could already see the colors. janet echelman, an american sculptor, created a voluminous, colorful net sculpture hung from the ceiling.
and the best view is from lying down and looking up. the sculpture was so luminous, colorful, and just beautiful.
