it's 5 o'clock somewhere

hello all!

i know it’s been awhile, but i’ve been on vacation and unfortunately (not really) i didn’t have a lot of time!

about a week ago my aunt, uncle, two cousins (madi & kinleigh) and i flew to florida. our flight was early in the morning, which gave us more time there, so i didn't really mind.
we first flew into miami where we stayed at margaretville for four days.

let me just say, margaretville was pretty awesome.

i mean the hotel is huge. it has a giant blue flip flop in the lobby, three swimming pools, a store, the lobby is huge (pictured below) and a café.

the rooms weren’t bad sized either—considering there were five of us shoved into one, lol.

our first day there consisted of relaxation by the pool, a nice dinner at the actual margaretville restaurant, and roaming around the boardwalk spending money.

the next day we went parasailing.

let me repeat.

parasailing.

and it was freaking awesome. at first it was nerve-racking being drug off the boat, but once we were in the air it was actually surprisingly peaceful.

madi and i were about 1,200 feet in the air above the ocean, and it was beautiful.
the ocean was of course magnificent. i mean come on, it’s the ocean.

towards the end of the ride, they started to bring us down and before we knew it, madi and i were going through the water!

it wasn’t scary, it just seriously shocked the heck out of both of us.

after we went parasailing, madi and i went to one out of the three pools. the one we ended up going to had this waterslide and i’m not ashamed to admit that i went on it more than once.

i mean hey, it’s a waterslide and they’re fun.

once i basically got burned to a crisp, we all went to get ready for madi’s birthday dinner (the parasailing was one of madi’s gifts).

guess where we ate; the rainforest café.

if you’ve never eaten here, or heard of it, the rainforest café is a make-shift jungle with animals and storms. of course, they’re fake animals that creepily move and make real sounding noises. and every few minutes a storm with thunder and lightning would happen.

it’s actually pretty cool. not to mention that the food was also really good.

on our last full day at margaretville madi and i spent a big majority of the day at the beach and pool. it was nice just to relax out in the sun.

the next day, saturday, we all got re-packed and headed to the florida keys.

i’m so glad i went on this trip because the florida keys are amazing.

except for the traffic getting there, lol. my family and i spent most of the day actually getting to our family’s house but once we got there, the traffic was definitely worth it.

we spent most of the day driving because of traffic, but once we got to our family’s house (they live down there) the day turned out to be amazing.

i got to hold a starfish, and the family who caught him named him fredd with two d’s. fredd was orange & had six legs.

and yes, we took him back to his home.

pictured below is some shots from the family boat (-:

the next day was one of my favorite days of the entire trip. madi and i got to ride/drive wave runners (jet skis) and it was absolutely amazing. it took me a few minutes to get used to the trigger (i even said it was worse than me driving a car lol) and how to maneuver the runner, but once i did i had it down.

now i love being at the ocean. you could spend the entire day outside and never even know it. i mean, madi and i were on the wave runners for hours and we didn’t even know it.

later that night, we went swimming in the canal the house sits on! it was really fun.
monday was very interesting. madi, kinleigh, and i did a mermaid photoshoot. yes, a mermaid photoshoot.

we literally had a mermaid tail on.

but if i’m being honest, it was pretty cool.

after our mermaid photoshoot (BTW i don't have those pictures yet, but i will post them as soon as i get them), we just chilled at the sandbar. it was awesome.

i got to hold two sea urchins, and got to see REAL conch shells.

i love the keys.

tuesday, the fourth of july, madi and i went shark fishing! i’ve actually never even gone fishing before, and i must say it’s not as bad as i thought it’d be.

in total, we caught seven sharks.

after we were finished, we headed back and relaxed for a little bit until we went to go see fireworks.

the sunset was beautiful, and so were the fireworks.

unfortunately, tuesday was our last full day. fortunately, our flight didn’t leave until 9 PM wednesday night, so we got to go see the everglades.

the everglades were pretty cool, and after our tour of it, i got to hold a baby alligator!!!

the alligator was so cute, and not scary at all.

once we were done at the everglades, we headed to the airport. we had a few hours until our flight, but i love night flights because i love looking down and seeing all the lights so i was okay with waiting.
we got home around midnight, and i was exhausted. my aunt kept saying we would need a vacation from our vacation, lol.

overall, the trip was amazing and i absolutely loved every minute of it. i can't wait to go back!

i hope you have a wonderful week!

xoxo,

l.k
