buenasara (good evening in italian)!
phew today was a tiring day, but fun. mom and
i traveled to murano, burano, and torcello. three small islands off the coast
of venice.
murano, the glass island, we saw how their
glass is made which was really cool to see.
the demonstrator made a glass horse, and it was amazing to see how the glass was shaped, and colored. the demonstration didn’t last long but it was worth it.

after the demonstration, we were shuffled
into a showroom where there was some pretty glass. someone broke a piece of
glass, and it was hilarious.
there was also a sign that said no
photographs/videos but i wanted some footage for my montage so i took a video discreetly.
unfortunately mom saw and started to yell at me.
after the showroom, we had a little time to
shop for glass but mom had read that a lot of the glass on the island was
actually fake because it’s a big touristy thing to buy.
so watch out everyone, make sure the glass
you buy in venice, or any of the islands is real.
but to be funny, i kept shouting “shut em
down mom, shut em down” lol.
a canal runs right through the middle and is
lined with multi-colored, colorful houses/buildings. i’m talking royal blue,
pastel yellow, rich purple, bright and bursting pink.
it was honestly just like all the pictures
and honestly so stunning.
again, we didn’t have a lot of time so we were kinda rushed.
after burano, we went to our last stop:
torcello.
torcello is a very small island with not much
there, but it was quiet and peaceful.
i really enjoyed the boat ride to and from.
it was very nice.
i, of course, was starving once we got back,
so mom and i ate at this hotel café where we had our first real pasta meal.
since i would’ve probably died from everything good looking on the menu, i got
original spaghetti. it was actually surprisingly really delicious.
after dinner, mom and i strolled home and
shopped along the way. we also tried our very first peach bellini's! my favorite
thing about them was how little i could actually taste the alcohol. i
unfortunately did get a little tipsy lol.
although i’m super sad to be leaving venice,
and italy, tomorrow today was a great last day in this beautiful country.
ciao!!!
